What event would you organise if you had the Jaarbeurs at your disposal for 1 day? Now that the Netherlands is slowly but surely reopening, there is finally room for encounters again. RTV Utrecht and the Jaarbeurs are therefore calling on Utrechters to come up with great ideas. Anyone can send in plans: exam parties, weddings, sports competitions, concerts, festivals or flea markets, in principle anything is possible. At the end of the summer holidays, the winning plan could actually be realised in the Jaarbeurs.
"With the Jaarbeurs, Utrecht has a unique venue for large-scale meetings. Now that the world is finally opening up again, we want Utrechters to dream about the ultimate event to celebrate this," says Peter van der Veer, commercial director of the Jaarbeurs. "We will make an entire hall or the main hall of the Beatrix Theatre available for this, so in principle almost anything is possible. Above all, it must be festive and accessible to all Utrechters".
"People have been eagerly awaiting more freedom. Now that this is back in the picture, we are curious to know what needs are in the province and what creative ideas Utrechters come up with," said RTV Utrecht media director William Valkenburg. All RTV Utrecht media channels will follow the action throughout the summer months and report on it: the preparations, the jury deliberations, the voting, the announcement of the winner and, of course, the event itself.

Get in on the action and who knows, you may realise your own event at the Jaarbeurs at the end of the summer holidays. We will open the door, switch on the lights and ventilation and the rest is up to you!

Preferably with a nice video or with photos and/or mood board. Anything to make your idea stand out. An expert Utrecht jury will select the best ideas from all submissions. Then it is the public's turn: which of the selected ideas gets the most votes and receives the key to the Jaarbeurs?
The winner will then get, for 1 day, access to a hall or auditorium of the Jaarbeurs! Of course, RTV Utrecht will report on the action and the final event. The regional broadcaster will be there at all important moments: online, on the radio and on TV!
