Utrecht, 23 September 2026 – Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs is acquiring ExpoProof, thereby strengthening its position in the public sector. The organiser of trade fairs and conferences focusing on mobility, sustainability, public spaces and the living environment is set to become part of Jaarbeurs. This will enable it to expand its range of knowledge and networking platforms for professionals working on issues relating to mobility, sustainability, the living environment and public spaces. The acquisition will be announced during the 22nd edition of the Public Space Trade Fair, one of the largest events in ExpoProof’s portfolio. The fair is taking place today and tomorrow at Jaarbeurs.

Stronger position in the public sector
With this acquisition, Jaarbeurs adds a number of leading trade fairs and conferences that play a central role within the public sector. These include the Public Space Trade Fair, the Sports Facilities Trade Fair, the Mobility Trade Fair and the Space, Light & Technology Trade Fair. Every year, these events bring together thousands of professionals from local authorities, provincial authorities, water boards, consultancy firms, research institutions and market players to discuss current issues such as climate adaptation, accessibility, sustainability and urban development. The addition of ExpoProof strengthens Jaarbeurs ’s position in a sector where knowledge-sharing, innovation and collaboration are becoming increasingly important. Herman Mantel, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs: “ExpoProof has built up a strong position within the public sector and knows better than anyone how to translate substantive issues into valuable meetings between government, the private sector and research institutions. With this acquisition, we are strengthening our portfolio with a number of leading trade fairs and conferences and further building on our ambition to accelerate knowledge-sharing, innovation and collaboration around the issues that will shape the Netherlands in the coming decades.”

A strong community with growth potential
In recent years, ExpoProof has developed into a specialist in sector-specific events where content, practical experience and networking take centre stage. The events play an important role within the professional communities active in the fields of mobility, public space, sports facilities and urban development. Within Jaarbeurs , these events are given the space to grow further, whilst retaining their own identity, thematic focus and strong ties to the sector. According to co-owner Marc de Winter, the affiliation with Jaarbeurs offers new opportunities for the further development of the events. “We are proud of what we have built up over the past few years. Within Jaarbeurs , our events will have the scale, clout and support to grow further, whilst retaining their character, quality and thematic focus. This offers many opportunities for visitors, exhibitors and partners.”
