6 tips for organising an exhibition

By setting the budget in advance, you won't suddenly face crazy surprises during the organisation. You will need to hire the location, catering, equipment, advertising and decoration. Look carefully at the budget and also decide which part you want to spend how much on.

What are you going to exhibit and what setting suits it? Are you looking for a modern space (e.g. in Media Plaza) or a futuristic atmosphere (Supernova)? Or do you want to rent a large number of square metres that you can arrange flexibly? Then the Expo Hall in the Beatrix Theatre or an exhibition hall are suitable, for example.

Draw out your set-up in advance. Where will the products you are going to display be? Are people allowed to walk around it, can they touch it or not? And what is the direction in which the public will walk? Pay close attention to the light. Because if anything is important in an exhibition, it is light.

Depending on what you are going to exhibit, you can do something interactive. For example, giving a live demonstration or workshop. Or placing interactive screens with touchscreens where people can find additional content about your exhibition. And with VR, or AR glasses, you can also do very inspiring experiences. Plenty of choice!

You want people to have a good time and stick around for a long time. So prevent them from being hungry or thirsty and therefore wanting to go home. At Jaarbeurs we like to match a snack or drink to the exhibition. Our culinary advisors will be happy to help you with that. Small bites, for example. Or photo-worthy snacks (great for a photo exhibition!) and themed dishes.

Do you know who visited your exhibition? Then send a thank you or a nice retrospective. This is a good follow-up to stay top of mind again.
