This summer, Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs is hosting the Utrecht Summer Spectacular. From Thursday 2 July to Sunday 2 August, our halls will be a special holiday destination covering 25,000 square metres. Visitors are welcome to the Summer Spectacle for a full day out across six different themed worlds, featuring a variety of activities, attractions, family entertainment, food and drink outlets, and live performances. In the evenings, there will be a series of summer concerts featuring a wide range of artists.
The Utrecht Summer Spectacular brings together a variety of holiday experiences in one place. Visitors can wander through six themed worlds, each with its own atmosphere and programme. From Safari Jungle, with play and climbing adventures for children, to Caribbean Beach, where visitors can relax on the beach. There is also a Dinoland, a roller disco, numerous attractions and daily entertainment spread across the site.
On Saturday evenings, one of the zones – the Europa Boulevard – takes on a different atmosphere. During the Utrecht Summer Evenings, Dutch artists will take to the stage for a series of summer concerts included in the price of admission to the event. Performers will include Robert van Hemert, Monique Smit and Quido van de Graaf, amongst others.
The opening comes at a time when many Dutch people are choosing to stay closer to home. Recent research by the ANWB shows that more than half of Dutch people are spending their summer holidays in the Netherlands this year.
Not every family has the opportunity to enjoy a day out during the summer holidays. That is why the Utrecht Summer Spectacular is collaborating with organisations including the Opkikker Foundation and Buurtgezinnen. Through Buurtgezinnen, families who could do with a bit of extra support will receive tickets. The Opkikker Foundation is dedicated to supporting families living with long-term illness and offers them a chance to enjoy a carefree moment together. In total, the Utrecht Summer Spectacular and Jaarbeurs are making several thousand tickets available for this purpose.
