Utrecht, Dec 16, 2025 -Royal Jaarbeurs will introduce fully circular stand construction for exhibitors at its own trade shows from 1 January 2026. This includes the strategic sectors Construction & Installation, Care and Agrifood. With this step, Jaarbeurs is actively accelerating the sustainable transition within the events industry.

Circular stand construction becomes the new standard
Until now, exhibitors had a choice of different participation packages, but from 2026 one standard will apply: circular stand construction. This means that all stands, furniture and carpet will be made from materials that can be used again and again or made from reusable, modular and circular materials. No more disposable stands, but high-quality structures and stylish furniture designed to last. This choice underlines Jaarbeurs 's ambition not only to facilitate but also to actively promote sustainability in all sectors in which it operates. Herman Mantel, CCO Jaarbeurs: "Our strength lies in bringing people together and accelerating sustainable transitions in all markets in which we operate. By fully engaging in content programmes about the sustainable transitions in our markets and also offering circular stand construction, we take responsibility in the entire chain and help our customers make a move towards a more sustainable future together with us."

Setting an example: sustainability throughout the chain
Sustainability at Jaarbeurs goes beyond environment and climate. Marloes van den Berg, Chief People & Sustainability at Jaarbeurs: "It is an integral part of our Jaarbeurs strategy and visible in everything we do. From circular stand construction with reusable materials to catering that works with local products, from sustainable transport solutions for visitors to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond." Wherever possible, we work with the lowest possible environmental impact and Jaarbeurs takes active responsibility in this. Circular stand construction, available through the Jaarbeurs webshop and on all Jaarbeurs sales channels, will become standard from 2026. This will give exhibitors a sustainable and quality choice. "We really want to start a movement. By putting our circular solutions at the centre, we are actively contributing to a more sustainable event industry. We invite all customers to join us and make an impact together," said Marloes van den Berg.

To support exhibitors, Jaarbeurs recently opened a stand construction showroom in the Beatrix Building, where they can view and select circular stands.
