RTV Utrecht and the Jaarbeurs received more than a hundred entries to the Win the Jaarbeurs for 1 day campaign over the past period. This week, the jury considered the entries and eventually selected three nominees. The public will decide who the eventual winner will be. From today, everyone can vote via RTV Utrecht's website or app and there really is something to choose from, as the events are very different.

The jury consisting of Hans van Breukelen, Lakshmi, Antje Monteiro, Toni Peroni, Andries Tunru and Henk van der Feest had a tough time during the jury deliberations. The variety and creativity of proposals was great and there were surprising ideas among them.

"The jury looked at the proposals with great pleasure, but also with a critical eye," said William Valkenburg, media director RTV Utrecht. "Filling a hall or a hall of the Jaarbeurs is not just something. It requires more than just a good idea".

In making the choice, a few considerations proved decisive: Is the idea Jaarbeurs-worthy? Is the event attractive and accessible to a wide audience? And do the entrants have sufficient organisational power to realise it?

After answering these questions, three initiatives remained for voting now:

Freerunpark Utrecht XXL - The Movement Academy

This Utrecht-based company owned by Jasper and Kasper organises Freerun as an after-school activity. A course is set up with bouncy castles and trampolines. The children are challenged to learn new things both physically and mentally. A mega-large professional Freerun park can be built in a hall of the Jaarbeurs, giving all children in the region a chance to get to know this sporting activity through workshops and clinics.

Utrecht in Concert - Yentl Verheij

Yentl has been a booker of local artists for years and has had to cancel all his events in the past year and a half. If measures soon allow it again, he wants to catch up at the Jaarbeurs and realise missed or cancelled concerts in one day. His event is a programme featuring regional artists and talent. Musicians who have been performing for a crate of beer on a local stage for years. From all kinds of music styles such as: Trap, Garage, Grime, Ambient/Drone, IDM, Deconstructed Club, acid, Si-so, Liquid live visuals, Perart, Kraut, Psychedelic, Vapor, Sosa, Stoner, Folk, ConsJazz, Hypnagogic Pop, Moogpop, electro, Cold Wave, Noise and Punk.

Utrecht cares day- Marjan van Lexmond

The dream of Marjan van Lexmond of ADSU is to open up the Jaarbeurs for one day to vulnerable Utrecht citizens, caregivers, informal carers, colleagues and companies. A day entirely dedicated to meeting and inclusion.

ADSU stands for 'Aan De Slag in Utrecht' and is a partnership of 16 organisations in VG, GGZ and addiction care, the Municipality of Utrecht and the UWV. The organisations want to organise a celebration for clients, informal carers, volunteers, colleagues, suppliers, etc. A celebration for everyone who has received care and given care.

Vote

Votes can be cast via RTV Utrecht's website or app until Thursday 5 August. On Friday 6 August, the winner will be announced and the actual preparations for the event will begin.
