Utrecht, 7 April 2024 - On Sunday 6 April, alderman Susanne Schilderman, together with Jeroen van Hooff (CEO Koninklijke Jaarbeurs) and Cor Jansen (director-director Utrecht Marketing), festively opened the Dutch Health Week during Cultural Sunday. Utrecht is buzzing this week as 'Utrecht, Heart of Health'. Restaurants, Jaarbeurs, hospitals, training institutes, the library, museums and sports clubs throughout the city will host all kinds of activities for residents and care professionals during Dutch Health Week: from yoga classes, workshops and exhibitions to various trade fairs.
Utrecht this week beating heart of health
Dutch Health Week is the annual event in the city and region of Utrecht for both citizens and (care) professionals that is all about health. Some of the activities: in Zeist, Dutch Health Week started with a 'breakfast challenge'; under the title 'Uit je bubbel', guests of restaurant De Hondekop in Utrecht on 7 April will talk to each other over a three-course dinner under the guidance of a psychologist and sociologist; in museum Flehite Amersfoort, the exhibition 'Pretty Dark' will highlight the mental well-being of young people; on 9 April, the Green Business Club Utrecht organises an inspiration café with forester Arjan Postma on the parallels between nature and daily life; on 10 April, Hogeschool Utrecht offers a workshop on the importance of a good night's sleep; on Sunday 13 April, yoga classes will take place at Centraal Museum followed by a guided tour of the exhibition 'Good Mom/Bad Mom. Art of Health exhibition
Until 13 April, the exhibition Art of Health with art by makers from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU) will be on display. In three specially placed glass containers at three locations - Jaarbeursplein, Utrecht Science Park and the Eemplein in Amersfoort - five artists use their imagination to give a glimpse of a healthy society of the future....
