Utrecht, 2 February 2026 - VIV Europe reaches a special milestone this year with its 25th edition in Utrecht. The international agrifood trade fair, which has been organised by Royal Jaarbeurs and VNU Europe for decades, has developed into a leading platform within the global feed-to-food chain. The organisers announce that VIV Europe will grow to a biennial edition structure from 2028, allowing the sector to meet at regular intervals in the heart of the European agrifood chain.
"VIV Europe is evolving with the strength, consistency and international depth the sector has been asking for," said Jeroen van Hooff, President & CEO of Royal Jaarbeurs and VNU. "Europe needs a reliable and forward-looking agrifood platform where strategy, technology and business come together. The new two-year cycle gives our community the continuity and momentum it deserves."
Jubilee edition in a global hotspot for agricultural innovation
During this 25th edition, hundreds of international companies and thousands of trade professionals will once again come to Utrecht. As such, VIV Europe remains a central place where knowledge institutions, chain partners, technology suppliers and policymakers come together to discuss the future of animal production and feed-to-food processes. Partners such as Rabobank, Wageningen University & Research, the World Poultry Science Association and Common Source will provide content ranging from market analyses to insights into the future challenges of animal production, sustainable growth and chain efficiency.
As a top-10 innovation country and global agritech leader, the Netherlands is once again the logical setting for this edition. Utrecht serves as a hub for agrifood technology, science and sustainable chain innovation. The anniversary edition thus highlights not only the origins of VIV Europe, but also the crucial role the region plays in the development of the international food system.
Poland takes centre stage as 'Country of Honor'
In 2026, Poland will take centre stage as 'Country of Honor'. The country is now the largest poultry producer in the European Union and one of the fastest-growing exporters within the sector. This strong development, combined with modern integration structures and a high level of technological adoption, makes Poland a relevant key player in the European agrifood domain. During VIV Europe, Polish companies, experts and policymakers will feature prominently within programmes, delegations and thematic sessions that will further explain the dynamics of the Polish market.
A sector in transition requires a strong international platform
The European agrifood sector is in a period of accelerated change, driven by digitalisation, sustainability and technological advances. Countries such as the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, France, Spain and Italy are investing in advanced production models that focus on automation, data-driven operations, higher welfare standards and efficient feed-to-food chains. These developments reinforce the need for a reliable platform where industry leaders can connect, have strategic discussions and assess new technologies.
VIV Europe plays a clear role in this by offering a substantive programme that looks ahead to the most important transitions within animal production chains. Innovators, researchers, startups and established market players share insights there that are directly applicable to practice. From precision agriculture to new processing technologies.
New visitor experience and growing international interest
The 2026 edition also introduces a revamped visitor experience. The organisation is investing in improved access, optimised routes, personalised visit planning and matchmaking that connects companies faster and more effectively. In addition, large delegations from both inside and outside Europe will come to Utrecht, strengthening the fair as an international reference point for the agri-food sector.
The market is responding enthusiastically: 97 per cent of the exhibition floor for 2026 has already been sold, underlining the need for a strong European platform. Exhibitors from Europe, Asia and the Middle East thus confirm their confidence in the importance and future of VIV Europe.
VIV Europe 2026 will take place from 2 to 4 June, followed by VIV Europe 2028 from 13 to 15 June at Royal Jaarbeurs.
