Utrecht, 9 December 2025 - Royal Jaarbeurs is introducing a new initiative: LSH NEXT Summits. A series of symposia entirely dedicated to care, welfare and the life sciences & health sector. The aim of these meetings is to support healthcare executives to make long-term decisions in a rapidly changing sector.
A renewed vision and ambition
The launch of LSH NEXT Summits took place during the symposium on 9 December in the presence of leading experts such as Richard van Hooijdonk, Daan Dohmen, Machteld Huber, Masi Mohammadi and Philip Idenburg. With this step, Jaarbeurs underlines its renewed vision and ambition to play an active role in future-proofing the healthcare sector. Audrey Wilschut, Head of Cluster Public at Jaarbeurs, emphasises the importance of this new series: "With these Summits, we bring care, welfare and life sciences & health together. We are building a community of professionals who not only improve the care of today and tomorrow, but also shape the health and innovations of the future."
The meeting place for healthcare innovation
The need for collaboration and innovation in healthcare is greater than ever. Audrey Wilschut: "The sector is facing enormous challenges: the demand for care and costs are rising explosively, from 113 billion euros now to 202 billion in 2050. At the same time, the number of people receiving and providing care, both formal and informal, is growing due to ageing and social developments. In addition, technology plays a crucial role: as many as 80 per cent of all Dutch healthcare organisations see data-driven care as the defining direction for the next 15 years." LSH NEXT Summits provides a platform where these issues take centre stage and where solutions are jointly developed. With this, Jaarbeurs wants to start a movement to future-proof the healthcare sector and accelerate innovation.
Jaarbeurs as a connecting force
Jaarbeurs has been an important player in connecting care, welfare and life sciences & health for years. With LSH NEXT Summits, it is strengthening its role as a facilitator of knowledge sharing and cooperation. The meetings will be a meeting place for professionals, policymakers, researchers and innovators working together on better care and health.
The first LSH NEXT Summit will take place on 12 November 2026 at Royal Jaarbeurs.
