Utrecht, 2 September 2025- In September, Royal Jaarbeurs launches not only the new event season, but also a new chapter in the development of its employees: the Jaarbeurs Academy. A large-scale training programme for all its employees to discover talents, develop and grow further as an organisation. Marloes van den Berg, Chief People & Sustainability Officer at Jaarbeurs: "The Jaarbeurs Academy is an integrated programme in which sustainability and personal growth go hand in hand. We invest in our people because they are the driving force behind everything we do."
A broad offer for everyone
The Jaarbeurs Academy is a broad and fully integrated platform within Jaarbeurs where education, training and development programmes come together. The Academy consists of different programmes for all employees within the organisation. For example, there is a Sales Academy where account managers can sharpen their commercial skills. Or a Marketing Academy where marketers can learn new knowledge and skills. Jaarbeurs also launches 'Young Talents' to guide young people with potential talent in their careers and connect them more with each other and the company.
A special component is the Chefs of tomorrow course, in which Jaarbeurs trains its own kitchen staff to become chefs. A first in the event industry, with which Jaarbeurs strengthens its committed hospitality team and offers young chefs a unique opportunity to learn the trade while working.
Sustainability as a foundation
The Academy is part of Jaarbeurs's broader sustainability strategy, in which HR is one of the five pillars. Themes such as vitality, diversity, inclusion and equal pay are central. "If you take sustainable ambitions seriously, it starts with investing in your own people," says Van den Berg.
An organisation in motion
With positions ranging from AV technicians to sales directors and from IT staff to cloakroom attendants, Jaarbeurs is a diverse organisation. The Jaarbeurs Academy is therefore designed for everyone, regardless of function, experience or background. Van den Berg: "We want to create a culture where curiosity, commitment and responsibility are self-evident."
