The Camping & Caravan Jaarbeurs has come to an end. With almost 40,000 visitors, the largest camping event in the Netherlands ended very successfully. This year, there was a particular focus on electric motorhomes, folding trailers and tent trailers. Exhibitors also organised many activities and workshops, which proved very popular with the public. Exhibition manager. Rachel Jankowsky: "In addition to new camper(van)s, caravans, tent trailers and tents, we actually wanted to show the entire camping experience. The organised activities and workshops contributed to this perfectly."

Tens of thousands of campers enjoyed a wide range of offerings
Besides the familiar halls with motorhomes and caravans, among others, there was also a hall decorated with camping accessories. In addition, visitors could test drive motorhomes and an electric car with a caravan on the tow bar. Visitors could also take part in workshops, from fire-making to smartphone photography. And finally, a special trailer boulevard was set up with the latest models of trailer tents and tent trailers. A boulevard where nine brands made an international contribution. "This made the fair a perfect day out for tens of thousands of campers who not only wanted to come and see the latest innovations but also to relive that camping feeling of last summer," explains Rachel Jankowsky.

Lots of attention for sustainable camping
During Camping & Caravan Jaarbeurs, there were several elections. Among others for the ANWB Camper of the Year, with winner Bürstner Lyseo Gallery, and ANWB Caravan of the Year, with winner Adria Altea. For the first time in Jaarbeurs history, there was also a Camping Sustainability Award, which was won by two Dutch companies. In the 'motorhomes' category, it was camper builder VENTJE, which builds camper interiors with FSC-certified wood and sheep's wool. In the 'camping general' category, the award went to North Holland-based Karsten Tents, with a series of tents made largely from recycled jeans. "We find sustainability very important in the camping industry," says Leo Diepemaat, chairman of the trade association KCI (Camping & Caravan Industry) and co-organiser of the fair. "Camping in itself is already one of the most sustainable forms of residential recreation, but the industry is not exactly sitting still. Therefore, we were also able to show the public a large number of electric motorhomes and the positive response from visitors exceeded our expectations," Diepemaat said.

The new date for next year's fair has also been announced: Wednesday 4 to Sunday 8 October 2023. More information www.kampeerencaravanjaarbeurs.nl/en
