Utrecht, June 6, 2025 – Royal Jaarbeurs and Carbon Data Europe, a Brussels-based conference platform, are joining forces with MVO Nederland, the largest Dutch network for sustainable businesses , to introduce ESG Days 2025, a two-day international conference focused on data-driven sustainability. The three parties announced the event during a recent business sustainability festival organised by MVO Nederland in the Jaarbeurs Beatrix Theatre . The ESG Days will take place on 7 and 8 October 2025 at Royal Jaarbeurs.
Response to a changing Europe
The motivation behind the conference stems from European legislation and regulations surrounding sustainability reporting such as the CSRD, the CSDDD and the Omnibus package. In addition, companies are facing increasing demands from customers, financial institutions and stakeholders regarding their Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) performance.
The ESG Days 2025 conference will bring together international experts, policymakers, scientists and professionals to interpret the latest developments and anticipate the challenges that businesses face. The initiators are emphasising the importance of data for companies when making decisions aimed at reducing their environmental and social impact. Key speakers will include Şahin Çaǧlayan (co-founder and CEO of Faradai), Willem Melis (carbon advisor and country manager for Belgium at the Anthesis Group) and Neil Woodcock (co-founder and executive chair of 51ToCarbonZero).
Crucial platform
“ESG Days 2025 will offer a crucial platform at a time of rapid European change,” comments Nils Gerlant Veenstra, director of Carbon Data Europe. “By connecting knowledge and data with hands-on experience, we will support businesses in getting a grip on evolving regulations. The event will be a unique opportunity to explore together how we can use data insights to make decisions which reduce our environmental and societal impact.”
Ankie van Wersch, executive director of MVO Nederland, agrees: “Our ‘Day for Active Thinkers’ events are aimed at working toward a sustainable economy where profit and positive impact go hand in hand. They illustrate how sustainable entrepreneurship is tomorrow’s standard and that ESG is not just a box to tick but a compass to the future. This fact makes the ESG Days a particularly timely conference as businesses need to make choices today regarding reporting and strategy. The two days of the event will offer clarity, direction and concrete solutions.”
Power of cooperation and knowledge sharing
Herman Mantel, CCO of Royal Jaarbeurs, says that “sustainability is not a side issue for us at Jaarbeurs, it’s a given. ESG Days 2025 is our way of providing a platform where knowledge sharing and collaboration can take centre stage. It will enable companies to take concrete steps toward a more sustainable future using data. We are proud to make this conference possible together with Carbon Data Europe and MVO Nederland as this is clearly the right time to accelerate efforts with regards to sustainability.”
