Standing at the entrance of an event, you have to search for a QR code or digital ticket. It can be easier: by storing all your tickets, boarding passes and loyalty cards in the same place in your phone. Namely: your Apple Wallet. We explain what an Apple Wallet is, how it works and how to set it up.
What is Apple Wallet?
Apple Wallet used to be called Passbook. It is an app on your Iphone where you store all your digital cards and tickets. From airline tickets to cinema tickets - even your bank card can go in there. And of course: entrance tickets for a congress or trade fair.
In a nutshell, the Apple Wallet is your digital wallet. It works with other apps, websites and emails that also support this feature.
How does Wallet work?
Actually, the Wallet app works very easily. All you have to do is add a card or ticket and the app saves it for you. For your rest, you don't have to look at it. When it finally gets there, for example when you are at the door at a trade fair in our halls, your ticket often appears automatically on your access screen. This is done based on time and location.
Via the Wallet, you can easily have QR codes or barcodes scanned, so everything is digital.
Which tickets can be put in the Wallet?
You can put all kinds of tickets in the Wallet. Think about:
- Payment cards (if you use Apple Pay)
- Customer and savings cards from supermarkets and other shops
- Boarding passes for flights
- Discount coupons for shops
- Membership cards for associations or sports clubs
And of course...the tickets for all kinds of events.
Not every pass or ticket can go into your Apple Wallet. Sometimes an organisation does not yet offer this feature. But fortunately, more and more are adding it. More and more companies make entrance tickets that are compatible with Apple Wallet.
How to add tickets to Wallet on Iphone?
There are several ways you can add a ticket to your Wallet. Think about:
- Via email
Have you bought a digital ticket for an event? Then there is often a button or link in the e-ticket. It usually says something like: 'Put in Apple Wallet' or 'Add to Wallet'. Click that button and the ticket is in your digital wallet. - Via an app
Did you buy your ticket via an app? For example, an airline ticket or at a theatre? Then chances are there is also a button that says you can add it to the Wallet. - Via a website
Sometimes you end up on a website where you can download your ticket. Here you often also get the option to put it in your Wallet right away. Click. And done. - Via a QR code
Just as easy: sometimes all you have to do is scan a QR code. This then gives you the option to put the tickets in your Wallet.
Are your tickets in your Wallet? Then you can open them there, delete them or view details.
