Royal Jaarbeurs: the friendly, sustainable and innovative host for all of the Netherlands. A place where you meet, inspire, learn and grow. We'd love to tell you what's going on at Royal Jaarbeurs and the way we do things. How? By getting to know our most valuable asset: our people. Rachel Jankowsky is exhibition manager MOTORbeurs Utrecht and Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs and has final financial and commercial responsibility for both exhibitions. We get on the back of Rachel's motorbike and she tells us how she turned her passion into her job.
For 32-year-old Rachel from Amersfoort, motor oil flows through her veins. She has a great passion for motorbikes and calls herself an adrenaline junkie. A few years ago, she got her motorbike licence. When she was in her early twenties, she modelled and stood with flags in her hands on the grid at the MotoGP, among other events. A goose-bump moment and instantly fell in love with motorsport. Skydiving, shark diving and motorcycling are just some of the activities that make her heart beat faster. As exhibition manager of MOTORbeurs Utrecht and other events, Rachel is right at home at Jaarbeurs.
Her motorbike journey began in Utrecht where she studied International Business. The next stop was in Cologne, Germany, where she found her first job at the Dutch subsidiary of Kölnmesse, where she was responsible for sales for the Dutch market for several international exhibition titles including Intermot - the largest motorbike exhibition in Germany. She made her next stopover at Hypsos, the stand and interior design company. "The world of trade shows has stolen my heart," she says. So it was no surprise that with her experience and passion for trade shows and conventions, she started at Jaarbeurs a few years ago. The Camping & Caravan Jaarbeurs was the very first consumer fair in the Netherlands to take place again after a long period of lockdowns due to the corona pandemic. A fair with exciting and cool challenges that of course involved a lot of press. "I am not the biggest camper myself, but the dynamic world of the camping and caravan industry suits me very well."
"The world of fairs has stolen my heart," he says.
Besides the Camping & Caravan Jaarbeurs, Rachel was angling for another Jaarbeurs exhibition title of her own, MOTORbeurs Utrecht. "How nice to combine my love of motorbikes and speed with my business skills and expertise!". For two years now, Rachel has been at the helm of MOTORbeurs Utrecht.

MOTORbeurs Utrecht 2024 was an edition full of experiences. "We did a 180-degree turnaround compared to the previous edition in which we had a lot of challenges. It was a vibrant edition full of show and spectacle." This year was unique. Almost all importers of renowned motorbike brands were present in full at MOTORbeurs Utrecht. With this collective cooperation, the importers joined forces. "And the great thing is that we received positive feedback from both visitors and exhibitors." Rachel explains how all the team's ideas come to life during the fair. "It once started as a joke by some team members: let's build a marble track. In motorsport, you have trial riders and we thought it would be great to put up a rig where riders could ride off the rig like marbles. This joke has become reality with the Fire Arena." The MOTORbeurs Utrecht team is young, creative and very enthusiastic, and it showed on the exhibition floor. "It was very hard work and I am proud of the team for getting a lot done in one year," says Rachel. As exhibition manager at Jaarbeurs, she is driven to see her vision come to life. "What I love about working at Jaarbeurs is the freedom we get after the concept plan has been handed over to bring the project to fruition," she adds enthusiastically.
"What I think is cool is that we spend a whole year seeing our ideas come to life," he says.

Motorcycling connects people in a unique way. This feeling of togetherness was tangible at MOTORbeurs Utrecht, where nearly 90,000 enthusiastic motorbike enthusiasts came together. As exhibition manager, Rachel and her team played a crucial role in creating this atmosphere of togetherness. "Motorcycling connects. I really felt that connection during the four days. I am looking forward to next year's edition!"
