For the past three years, the Helen Dowling Institute held its benefit gala Aan Tafel Met in the Polarzaal of Jaarbeurs. "This white hall is like a blank painter's palette that you can give shape and colour to yourself, ideal for an event."
The Helen Dowling Institute, located in Bilthoven and Utrecht, provides psychological care to approximately 2,300 people with cancer and their loved ones each year. To continuously improve its care, the institute operates as a non-profit organization and hosts various charity events, such as the annual benefit gala, which attracts around 200 to 250 guests—ranging from loyal supporters to new connections. The evening revolves around culinary delights, spectacular performances, and raising funds to ensure that people and their loved ones receive the best possible care when struggling with the impact of cancer.
"After the reception in the adjacent foyer, guests can step right into the main hall. The lighting transforms the space completely, creating a different atmosphere each time. This is ideal, as one moment a cancer patient is on stage sharing their story, and the next, Emma Heesters is turning it into a celebration. Combined with its central location in the heart of the country and ample parking, this is a venue you’ll want to return to time and again. Especially because working with the staff is such a pleasure," says event manager Laura Jansen.
