After two years of running, standing still and uncertainty, the time has finally come: the doors of Jaarbeurs are fully open again, and there has already been considerable use of them.
With wonderful events such as Heroes Dutch Comic Con, EventSummit and the KreaDoe Spring Festival, it is clear what we do it for: the live meeting remains special for everyone and will certainly not disappear.
The 2022 trade fair season kicked off with the Second Home consumer fair on 18, 19 and 20 March. This was also, at the same time, the first fair after the corona pandemic that could go ahead entirely without measures and controls.
Two years ago, Second Home was all set, but everything was cancelled due to the first lockdown. This made it extra special that this year's fair could take place as usual!With more than 150,000 holiday homes in over 30 countries under one roof and more than 8,000 visitors, Second Home proved to be a great success.
From 30 September to 2 October is the next edition of Second Home at Jaarbeurs.
On 26 and 27 March, it was time for a sold-out anniversary edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con.
After two years of waiting, organiser Easyfairs put on another wonderful edition. Two days full of games, superheroes, visitors in impressive cosplay outfits and even a real wedding on the mainstage. With 40,000 visitors, it was a memorable weekend.

At WorldSkills the Finals, finalists from Skills Talents (vmbo) and Skills Heroes (MBO) compete to become Dutch champions in their field. The two-day vocational event on 31 March and 1 April 2022 attracted 16,000 visitors. Over 600 (v)mbo finalists competed in 52 vocational competitions and almost 70 vocational challenges.
WorldSkills is also seen as the number one professional event in the Netherlands and is the perfect place for students to discover what professions exist. This way, they discover what they like and gain important experience for their future study choices.
On 2, 3 and 4 April, Jaarbeurs welcomed the exclusive high-end trade fair Beauty Trade Special. This fair especially for beauty professionals had the theme: Back to Beauty. It was the place to be for information on the latest products and techniques and tips and advice on how to run a successful business.
On 8, 9 and 10 April was Jaarbeurs s first in-house consumer fair itself: the KreaDoe Spring Festival. The Spring Festival is the new younger, hipper sister of the annual KreaDoe fair in the autumn. As soon as you step inside the Spring Festival you imagine yourself in a creative, cheerful, cosy paradise where DIY is central. It was one big party and we look back with 15,000 visitors with a good feeling.
The halls and the KreaDoe Living Room were busy, the workshops were full and visitors left the fair with filled bags. €2501 was also raised for the Princess Máxima Centre through various actions in which visitors and exhibitors could participate. It was 3 very nice days.

The fact that live events can once again run at full capacity does not mean that online events are disappearing with this. With all the accelerated innovations, online events have grown enormously in quality and possibilities. Whether this is an interactive online webinar or a hybrid event where an experience for both people at home and on location.
Because online events remain important now and in the future, we built the Jaarbeurs Studio.
On 12 April, we organised the Jaarbeurs Energy Boost together with former top athletes Erben Wennemars and Rob Harmeling. A free webinar from the Jaarbeurs Studio to give our customers a nice boost and get them ready for a successful 2022!

The event industry back in full swing. On 14 April, EventSummit hosted us again, the event for our own industry.
With legendary speakers, incredibly creative stands, inspiring networking opportunities and the afterparty to close the event, EventSummit was definitely a success. Besides having the honour of hosting the event for our own industry, we were also part of the fair with our own Jaarbeurs stand. It was great to get together again with the entire industry, get inspired and share information with each other.
We are very also happy that EventSummit will take place again next year at Jaarbeurs on 9 March 2023 !
