The Built Environment Climate Summit is the annual summit where public and private sector organisations work together to accelerate progress and make the built environment more sustainable.

On 4 and 5 November 2026, the Climate Summit will bring together 3,000 professionals at the Jaarbeurs n Utrecht. Public authorities, housing associations, builders, developers, financiers and knowledge partners will gather here to exchange knowledge, forge links and initiate joint solutions.

The challenges are considerable. The built environment accounts for almost 40 per cent of CO₂ emissions in the Netherlands. At the same time, societal challenges such as the housing shortage, grid congestion, climate adaptation, energy poverty and quality of life call for decisive action and cooperation between public and private sector stakeholders.

Chaired by Diederik Samsom, the summit will focus on connecting, accelerating and delivering. Over two days packed with inspiring keynote speeches, in-depth sessions and networking opportunities, participants will work on new initiatives and practical solutions for the built environment of tomorrow.

From ambition to action

The Climate Summit is not just about knowledge and networking, but above all about results. During the summit, ideas are put into practice, partnerships are launched and more than 50 deals are struck relating to the biggest societal challenges in the built environment.

This is where stakeholders come together to overcome obstacles, accelerate opportunities and make a tangible impact. In this way, the Climate Summit is becoming the place where ambitions are turned into action.
