Today, the organisation of the international Future Green City 2024 conference announced that it has chosen Royal Jaarbeurs and the Municipality of Utrecht as host venue and city for the conference on the greening of cities. From September 23 to 26 2024, professionals from the Netherlands and abroad will attend the Beatrix Theater of Jaarbeurs, to exchange ideas and discuss shaping liveable green city of the future.
Today, Royal Jaarbeurs will be presented with two international awards at the annual UFI Global Congress. UFI is the global association of event venues and organisers. Jaarbeurs won the UFI Sustainability Award for making its catering selection more sustainable and for the way it combats food waste. ‘Go big, or go home’ is what KPN must have thought. The previous edition of The Digital Dutch was sensational, and will be entered in the annals as an unprecedentedly spectacular event. This year, the organisation went one step further. Alle Welling, event organiser and trade manager at KPN: “We have set the bar for next year very high indeed.”
Leonie van Helten and Christa van den Hurk, event coordinator and portfolio manager, had never imagined that the COVID-19 measures would also make their jobs more interesting and meaningful. With about 160 live events, masterclasses and conferences a year, the switch to digital events was quite a mean feat for their employer Bohn Stafleu van Loghum. “In the beginning, it seemed impossible to run everything digitally, but now we can almost do it with our eyes closed.”
It was such an amazing day! On 11 April it was time for the fourth edition of The Digital Dutch: the business event on digital innovation. All who took part were extremely impressed by all the digital tours de force demonstrated by KPN and its partners at the event. We spoke to Alle Welling, product owner at KPN, about this spectacular event.
In February, tens of thousands of fans got together to share their love of trance music in Jaarbeurs. As in previous years, Armin van Buuren’s annual “party” was once again a big success. More than 35,000 visitors from 100 different countries went wild to the beat of their favourite music.
