Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs wins gold award for Best Congress Venue for second time in a row

Utrecht, 5 February 2024 - Royal Jaarbeurs today won the national gold award for 'Best Congress Venue of the Year 2023' for the second time in a row. Initiator of the award is the trade magazine for business event venues MEETINGS. Herman Mantel, CCO Jaarbeurs: "I am extremely proud and honoured to receive the award for Best Congress Venue again. This award inspires us to keep striving for innovation, top quality service and sustainability. Thank you to everyone who contributes every day to the success of our conference venue."

Gold award 2023: combination of location, facilities and professionalism
Jaarbeurs wins the audience award for its unique location and for the multitude of small to large venues. Erik Peekel, chairman of the day: "Jaarbeurs offers much more than just a central location. It is the unique combination of location, facilities and professionalism that the Utrecht event location offers. International partners are always very impressed as well."

Herman Mantel: "Day in and day out, we organise different types of congresses at Jaarbeurs. From a large congress in Media Plaza with modern session rooms to a symposium in Supernova where everything is about creating connections. Each conference room has its own style. Many clients regularly tell us that our personal approach is the success factor of our congresses. Clients therefore expect us to provide them with just one contact person who is responsible from A to Z to ensure that the congress runs smoothly."

Last year, Jaarbeurs again took important steps in making its exhibitions and conferences more sustainable. Niek Krebbers, Head of Sales Jaarbeurs: "Both at the exhibition halls and the conference locations, our catering consists of 90% vegetarian dishes and 10% fish dishes, depending on the target group. All products come from local and sustainable suppliers, such as the Koekfabriek in Utrecht and the Verspillingsfabriek. Our catering team is also regularly reinforced by a number of students from Academy Spelderholt. This is a place where young people with disabilities learn, live and work. Through the work experience, these young people's independence and self-confidence are given an extra boost."

Election Congress Venue of the Year
The Meeting Awards is an annual initiative of trade magazine MEETINGS, consisting of four public awards divided into the categories 'Best Meeting Venue', 'Best Event Venue', 'Best Training Venue' and 'Best Congress Venue'. The MEETINGS AWARDS have been presented to the best MICE companies and venues since 2006. The awards evolved from the Conference & Event and Training, Development & Locations (TD&L) magazines, now part of the broad trade magazine MEETINGS. From 1 October to 31 December 2023, people could vote for the best Meeting Locations in the Netherlands and Belgium.
