It wasn't Inge van Drongelens first time to organize an event. But to organize such a large conference, with almost none other than Carend owner Sander de Hosson, was not what she had expected. Together, we look back and discuss her experiences during the preparation and the day itself: 'We had high expectations and it was a huge success. It gave us such a rush!'
Organising a complete event for 10,000 employees in just three weeks may sound impossible, but that is precisely what Rabobank did. Royal Jaarbeurs has announced a new biennial trade event in spring 2025 for the European facade industry: Future Facade. The quest to achieve a circular facade industry requires international knowledge sharing and cooperation. Complementing an existing portfolio of trade fairs in the building sector that includes BouwBeurs, VSK and DigiBouw, Royal Jaarbeurs is launching this new event in partnership with the European Facade Network (EFN), TU Delft and TU Darmstadt. Future Facade will bridge the gap between knowledge and practice, with themes such as digitalisation, industrialisation and circularity taking centre stage. Future Facade will take place on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 May 2025 in Royal Jaarbeurs.
Putting Utrecht on the map as the city and region to organise leading international conferences and trade shows. This is the goal of the Utrecht Congress Alliance of public and private partners. It will focus on attracting events which fit the positioning of the city as ‘Utrecht, Heart of Health’, and are in line with the regional themes of Life Sciences & Health, New Digital Society and Smart Sustainability. This will be the foundation of a targeted acquisition strategy over the coming years.
As part of the ‘Heart of Health’ initiative, the Utrecht region is working together towards a healthier, sustainable future. These efforts have not gone unnoticed globally as Utrecht was chosen to host last November’s international European Healthy Cities Network Conference. The event took place over several days and at various locations, including Royal Jaarbeurs, with each day’s programme starting in the plush red seats of the Beatrix Theatre. Miriam Weber, healthy city coordinator for the municipality of Utrecht, reflects on a successful event.
