Sustainable impact as an exhibitor

New European legislastion requires your company to be transparent about its sustainability efforts. Jaarbeurs helps you to comply with this new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Our ambition is clear: to be the most sustainable organiser and facilitator of exhibitions and events in Europe. We want to become CO2-positive, we build sustainable trade shows and events and we support initiatives in the city of Utrecht. We make positive impact together with our employees, visitors, organisers and exhibitors. Waste separation, sustainable marketing, circular stand construction, and inspiring stakeholders are some examples of how we manage to do that. Sustainable stand construction

Do you want to participate more sustainablably in the event? Jaarbeurs offers a package for sustainable stand construction. With this package you can furnish your stand with sustainable and circular materials. The package includes modular Aluvision stand construction, circular furniture from Vepa the furniture factory, recyclable Rewind carpet, a waste bin for seperation and LED lights. With a sustainable stand you not only a take a strategic step to the future, but als reduce your carbon emissions.

Mobile waste collection points

During setup and breakdown days of events, mobile waste collection points are setup in the halls. The use of mobile waste collection points allows you to separate your waste directly in the hall. In this way, we jointly reduce the proportion of residual waste. This leads to more waste to be suitable for recycling. By separating waste properly together, we reduce carbon emissions.

Sustainable catering

Make sustainable impact with the food and drinks you and your colleagues consume. For example, opt for a vegetarian packed lunch. By limiting the consumption of meat, you can reduce your carbon footprint. At Jaarbeurs we use local products and seasonal vegetables as much a possible.

Jaarbeurs won the UFI Sustainable Development Award in 2022 for its sustainable catering and food waste initiatives.

Use public transport

Jaarbeurs is located right next to Utrecht Central Station. Perfect to travel to Jaarbeurs by train, bus or tram. Will you come to Jaarbeurs by car? Then share the car with your team to reduce your carbon impact. There are also several Park+Rail locations near Jaarbeurs.

Jaarbeurs has 43 charging stations to recharge your electric car.

Sustainable marketing

Sustainable choices in marketing? For example, use online flyers or a business card through a QR code. Are you using printed materials in your booth? Then choose banners you can reuse. Reduce the use of promotional materials, such as pens and notepads.

At Jaarbeurs, we offer the option of using an app that allows you to be visible online at the events as well. It is also possible to advertise digitally on large screens, where thousands of vistors will see your ad.

Inspire!

Spread the word! A sustainable ambition becomes even more sustainable when you inspire others. Make sure everyone involved is aware of the sustainble goals and how you plan to achieve them. Make sustainability a prominent theme at your booth. For example, you will find sustainability route along sustainable exhibitors at many trade shows. Participate with your booth!
