The Digital Society programme, with the participation of all Dutch universities, is organizing the 4th edition of the Digital Society Conference. The event will take place on Monday November the 28th, 2022 at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. The Digital Society Conference is all about connecting citizens, researchers, policy advisors, civil society organisations, industry and entrepreneurs, so we can work together towards a common goal: to create a better digital society which is beneficial for all. There will be internationally recognized keynote speakers, breakout sessions and networking opportunities, all this under the direction of host Maaike Schoon.

Central theme: Safety & Resilience
Safety & Resilience in a Digital Society is this year's central theme. In a world threatened by wars, a pandemic and climate disasters, the safety and resilience of people and the infrastructures that support them are increasingly important. Those infrastructures increasingly include interwoven social, political and technical systems. Talking about the safety and resilience of digital technologies is also talking about the safety and resilience of individuals, families, workplaces, cultural heritage and democracy. At this one-day conference, the national Digital Society program brings researchers from diverse academic backgrounds, policymakers and civil society organizations together to discuss how people can work together to build a more safe and resilient society.

Programme
We want to inspire you and connect with you during this conference. The programme lasts from 09:30 AM until 17:30 PM. During the programme we will have two professors as keynote speakers. There are several parallel sessions and round table discussions. The first round of presentations, in the morning, is based on 4 themes. And the second round, in the afternoon, the sessions will cover various projects from the UNL Digital Society programme and NWO Digital Society programme.
