Peter van der Veer (53), new commercial director at Jaarbeurs


Jaarbeurs appoints former Ahoy senior executive as new Commercial Director

Peter van der Veer has been appointed Commercial Director (CCO) of Jaarbeurs as of 23 September 2019. In this position, Peter will be commercially responsible for the business units Brands & Content, which includes Jaarbeurs-owned titles, and Venue & Service, which includes third-party, rental and hospitality titles. Both business unit Directors will report to Peter van der Veer. Filling the position of CCO is a step towards a new commercial (top) structure that will come into effect in the first quarter of 2020. 

Together with Albert Arp (CEO) and Franka Morssink (CFO), Peter will form the Jaarbeurs board of directors.


Peter van der Veer started his career at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht and worked his way up to the position of General Manager Marketing & Sales. In 2005, he switched to Rotterdam Ahoy and became co-shareholder. Peter has been a member of the Rotterdam Ahoy board of directors since 2011. With his enthusiasm and commercial drive, he developed Rotterdam Ahoy into a leading event organisation. Peter left his position as member of the board at the end of 2018 and recently gave up his shares.

Excellent step

Peter calls his transition to Jaarbeurs an excellent step: "Jaarbeurs has taken impressive steps in the last three years and has also set out enormous ambitions and a clear course. Going back to my roots gives me plenty of energy and additional drive."
