With this take-over, Jaarbeurs is strengthening its online position in the professional IT market. According to Henk Broeders, president of Jaarbeurs, the take-over fits in with the company's strategy. Broeders: 'Jaarbeurs is a company for Dutch business and trade. We bring people and markets together, and literally get business moving. It is quite a logical step that we are offering our customers various channels to contact their customers, 365 days a year.'
For more than 46 years, Computable has been the best-read source of information about ICT jobs, products and services in the Netherlands, with the highest readership among ICT decision makers and professionals. Computable informs the target audience about the latest developments in the market, analyses and backgrounds.
Computable.nl is the online platform for daily news, market developments and business cases. Through a unique collaboration with 1,250 selected experts from the IT market, it is able to share trade-specific knowledge about various themes, reaching more than 220,000 unique visitors every month.
Exactly one year after the take-over of Marqit.nl, Jaarbeurs has again realized a take-over in the IT sector. Bart Strijker, responsible for the digital strategy and online brands, explains: 'We connect communities, and feel that digital communication is the basis for physical communication (via trade shows and events). With Marqit, our IT shows and, now, Computable, we can enter into a dialogue with our customers and visitors from the IT sector all year round. This will happen even faster now we have added Computable. I am very glad about this logical next step in the transition of Jaarbeurs.'
Computable fits perfectly into a B2B-oriented organization. For De Persgroep, this was reason for a strategic reconsideration and the decision to sell Computable. Sander van den Hout, director of automotive & technology at De Persgroep: 'With its new course, Jaarbeurs has already got a large number of strong brands and products in the IT segment. Looking at Marqit and the various IT markets for the professional and vertical markets, Computable could not have gone to a better company. This strong brand now gets the attention it deserves.’
