KreaDoe Spring Festival turns Royal Jaarbeurs into a paradise for creatives
More time for hobbies and relaxation by quitting doomscrolling: it is a choice more and more people are making in times of great geopolitical tension. In the coming days, tens of thousands of visitors can find inspiration for a hobby at the KreaDoe Spring Festival in Utrecht. From Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May 2026, Royal Jaarbeurs will turn into this do-it-yourself (DIY) spring festival for the fifth time, where young and old can indulge their creative hearts, shop the latest trends and get new ideas for new hobby projects.
At the moment, 'cozy colouring' is hugely popular and adults in particular are colouring in. Colouring, for example, cute animals, autumn streets or domestic scenes is a mindfullness experience for many people and a good alternative to screen time. Marleen Rompen, exhibition manager KreaDoe at Jaarbeurs: "There is really something special going on in the creative and DIY sector. People want to stop endlessly scrolling on their phones and find peace in a hobby. Right now, colouring is one of those, and this hobby provides an outlet for many adults as well as children. Remarkably, precisely thanks to TikTok, 'cozy colouring' is more popular than ever."
Shop, workshop and swing to hits
At the KreaDoe Spring Festival, there is plenty to discover, learn and create for all ages. Visitors will find numerous workshops, inspiration and materials for various hobbies. There will be entertainment on the KreaDoe On Stage stage all day long. There will be various demos and interviews with well-known creatives, such as Jill, Lieve Merlijn and Romy van der Linden. There will also be a performance by actress, singer and online star AniqueDreamon. For fanatics, there will be daily bingo. A new feature this year is that the festival will be open longer on Friday evening, until 7pm. The programme that evening includes a special KreaHits Show with fun music challenges.
Creative book launches by CreaChick and Jill
KreaDoe is also the place where creatives present their latest expressions. CreaChick, for instance, will launch a brand new activity book and Jill her latest colouring book. Rompen: "This makes KreaDoe Spring Festival once again the stage where creatives, brands and communities meet. Our festival is not just about the product, but about the entire creative experience. Workshops and events ensure encounters and mutual connection. This is exactly what makes KreaDoe unique: the creative sector renews itself here, together with the visitors."
Kreadoe Spring Festival takes place from Friday 1 May to Sunday 3 May at Royal Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
