On 3 October, The Big Bike Film Night kicks off its 2026 theatre tour with a film night and exhibition in the Polarzaal, during Dutch Cycling Week. An evening with a golden touch: cycling legend Eros Poli will be there in person to share a first-hand account of his heroic solo stage in the 1994 Tour de France, on the slopes of Mont Ventoux. Before the film, you’ll have the chance to meet him in person at the exhibition and meet-and-greet.
The 2026 film collection takes you from the midnight sun over Norwegian mountain bike trails to the driving rain of a gruelling ride through Scotland, from an infectious French cyclist brimming with zest for life to three Belgian colleagues covering 1,000 kilometres of gravel through Rwanda on folding bikes. There’s an activist who rides downhill non-stop for 24 hours to support reforestation around Queenstown, a bikepacking adventure in Oman that goes anything but to plan, and a story of perseverance following a serious injury. To round off the evening, the audience travels back to the 1990s, to the slopes of Mont Ventoux, for a charming and heart-warming underdog story about two giants locked in battle. And this is just the tip of the iceberg: many more short films will be screened that evening. All films are in English with Dutch subtitles.
