Meeting point for fans of trading card games

During this two-day event in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, everything revolves around cards, decks, strategy and the community around it. Whether you come to collect, play, trade, learn or just look around - CardCon offers something for every TCG player.

Since its successful introduction in 2024, CardCon has grown into an event in its own right, alongside the Spell Show. It forms its own recognisable zone on the exhibition floor, completely focused on everything to do with trading card games. The atmosphere is low-threshold and inviting: you don't have to be an expert to participate, but those looking for depth will find every opportunity to take their game to the next level here.

Tournaments, casual play and demonstrations

At CardCon, you can actively participate in various ways. Scattered across the space are tournaments for a variety of games, with opportunities for both novice and advanced players. Some tournaments are competitive and with prizes, while others focus on getting to know each other and playing together. You can register in advance, but often also join on the spot as long as there is space.

For those who prefer to play in a more informal setting, there are also plenty of tables available for casual play. Bring your own cards or join others. It's the perfect opportunity to meet new people, swap strategies and just enjoy playing at your own pace.

There are also regular demonstrations of new sets or unknown card games. Here you can participate without preparation and learn the rules and basics of the game under the guidance of experienced players or publishers. A great way to discover whether a particular game is for you.

Tables and community

Bartering is an important part of the TCG world, and there is plenty of room for it at CardCon. At the trading tables, you can expand or complete your collection by exchanging cards with other players. There are fixed spots where you can sit quietly, browse, negotiate or just chat about your favourite decks.

In addition, CardCon is all about community. There is room to meet other players, exchange stories or get advice on deckbuilding, strategy or starting your own gaming group. Many visitors come back for the atmosphere and the meetings; the social aspect is at least as important as the game itself.

One ticket, two worlds

A CardCon ticket also gives you automatic access to the Spellenspektakel, the biggest board game event in the Netherlands. Here you will discover hundreds of gaming tables full of board and card games, role-playing games, miniatures and more. You can take part in demos, tournaments and workshops, and of course buy games from specialised shops. A valuable extra if you like to explore your gaming world a little further.

Practical information

CardCon takes place on Saturday and Sunday, simultaneously with the Spellenspektakel in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht. For many tournaments: full = full, so advance registration is recommended.
